This week we discussed the differences between prose and poetry, and talked about how Shakespeare utilized each to drive a point home. We had a great presentation about Queen Elizabeth from Archie, with lots of pictures and information. Next week we'll hear from Taylor about mental illness and retardation. Congrats to Emma and Isaac for passing off the setpiece!
Hannah passed off her 17 plays this week, so we'll have our very first crowning next week! It will be marvelous :)

Comedy, Tragedy, History or just a plain old Problem
Today we discussed the difference between a comedy, tragedy, history or problem play. We also signed off some plays, some steps and began the competition between the Montegues and the Capulets.
Currently, the score is Capulets: 89 and Montegues: 73.
***Congratulations for the first person to pass off the set piece from Romeo and Juliet: Zoe!***
That is a tough thing to accomplish!
Also, congratulations for the person to complete the first presentation for the year, Matthew!
I enjoyed the fashion catalog that you created from the Elizabethan times.
Next week, we have Archie presenting about the life of Queen Elizabeth.
ASSIGNMENTS: This week everyone must read Act 1: Scene 2-3 of Romeo and Juliet and complete the paper on:
"Are elderly people wiser than young people? Explain and give examples."

RE: theater make up
This Friday As You Like It will be performed in the park in Tacoma at 7pm. This play will be performed by the Seattle Shakespeare Company. There is more information here:
Some of you may not be taking Shakespeare again this year but since it was the play that you performed last year, I thought that you would be interested!

Be Proud!
Good morning everyone,
I hope that you had the chance to spoil your moms yesterday that made your play possible!
I know that it is kinda cheesy, but I think that we should all wear our cast shirts on Thursday for the last day of class. You should be proud of all of your hard work with this play and I hope to see some of you next year!

theater make up
this is the link if you can't get on pinterest for the guy's stage makeup tutorial. I don't know if we will have time for makeup on Thursday. he doesn't do eye make up but we will. bring your own eyeliner and mascara if you are unsure how to do it for the guys. we don't want cat eyes or anything crazy.
